The Domain Cologne for Men is one of our top best gifts for the outdoorsy gentlemen. The cologne scent has woody notes that’s in the fougère family. Fougère stands for “fern” in French. It takes a unique man to appreciate Domain's different levels of notes. Imagine spraying on after a refreshing shower. Depending on your order of favorite oil/s or lotion/s before applying your cologne, it’s suggested to spray the pulses; inside your wrists to the curve behind your knees. Here are a few other suggested pulse points:
-
Below the ear lobe or behind the ear.
-
Inside the elbow area.
-
Side of the neck, under the nape hairline area, or back of the neck, or near the trachea area.
-
The inside or outside of the ankle.
-
Groin area but best to spray on the outside of underwear to avoid skin irritation.
So, if you’re wondering what the notes consist of, read the following below and understand the purpose of the notes. These are to help your senses break down the complexes of what makes Domain to be The Domain Cologne by Mary Kay.
-
First notes. Crisp McIntosh and Dessert Sage. If ever you’re in the supermarket grab a few McIntosh apples. Take home, clean them, let them soak, cut into one, and smell it. For Canadian farmer John McIntosh, he discovered an apple tree and cultivated it. He became known as an apple breeder hence this where the apples get their name from. He described the apples to have a crisp almost creamy texture after biting into them. The apples are sweet and delicious and the scent is light with an aroma smell of freshly cut apples. While on the other hand, mixed with dessert sage to boost a sense of sweet, woody, and herbal scents intertwined. Dessert sage is mostly found in the western States of the US. And to distinguish this scrubby evergreen, Dessert Sage is known to give smells of herbal brews, wild flowers, and warmed rocks.
-
Middle notes. Juniper Berry and Ice Mint. Juniper berries can be found in the wild mostly in the northeastern side of America. The background of where Juniper berries come from is quite interesting due to it appearing as a shrub in its beginning stages and then grows into a tree. Moreover, juniper is labeled to be in the Cypress family. The berries are said to have a fresh piney, spicy, and "resin-y" smell. Now, what’s sharing at the heart of Domain’s signature scent is Ice mint. The icy minty notes add this cool peppermint or menthol smell to it. It’s invigorating to make these duo memorable and the center of such a chemically combined masterpiece.
-
Bottom notes. Black vanilla bean and Musk. In short, the last whiff of smell from this infamous fragrance is the sweet, sweet aroma of vanilla and musk. Musk itself is almost as natural smelling as our skin. The undertones of musk are usually described to give off an animalistic type fragrance. It can be strong but not overbearing. Musk is oftentimes used as a base and makes for a perfect mix with fragrances like black vanilla bean.
We are ecstatic to hear from you and how Domain has become a staple in your cologne/perfume collections!
